“Mano P Coco, sound installation satellite dishes” , 2019

Salvaged from the scrape in Doha, symbol of communication, I am using three satellite dishes as a sound sound mirror. As a metaphor of my process on this project, the sound reflect on them to create a sonic cloud using the natural reverberation of the room. The sounds performed on the sculpture are made from the original recording, a series of musical atmospheric chord made from the original, recording of daily basis sounds. All the sounds are randomly played.

Amplified and connected to the fourth satellite dish, the musical box has a strong importance to me as it  evokes childhood, nostalgia this with ethereal sonorities. The melody written on it has been made by converting the melody of my daughter to notes which, been then rearrange and reprogrammed according to my personal feeling. Visitors are more than welcome to perform it.
